Mary's Visit 2007: Nice, Villefranche sur Mer, Cap Ferrat

I hired a driver to take us to some of the most spectacular sea views and gardens in the world. Right up there with Pebble Beach but with weather more like Santa Barbara or San Diego. Our driver was in the know and stopped at the Mont Boron National Park for some incredible views of Nice. Next we headed down through Villefranche sur Mer which has the best views of, Cap Ferrat, one of the lushest and dreamiest places on earth. I love Cap Ferrat but so do other people so much so it is currently the most expensive real estate in the world.

We headed down to the lush Cap Ferrat. This garden paradise is expressed in its highest form at the "Villa & Jardins: Ephrussi de Rothschild." Just fantastic this time of year when everything is in bloom. We walked around the various themed gardens such as the Stone and Florentine taking in the views of Cap Ferrat ending up at the fountain show coordinated to strains of classical music. Maybe it is better here in Cap Ferrat than looking down from Villefranche? Both are fantastic I think! After we went to lunch in magical spot called Cap d'Ail. Someday I'd like to spend the day there swimming in the sea. Looks appealing doesn't it?
